If you don't see exactly what you want, then check back often as inventory changes very fast.īecause support for newer OS levels changed in the 2009 models, It is important to know whether this 2009 model is "Early," "Mid," or "Late." This is available from "About this Mac" as well as from an Apple serial number lookup service here:Ĭheck Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support There you can read up on them and even call Apple if you have questions about them. You can find them by going to Apple.Com, scroll to the bottom of the main page and click the Refurbished link. My last 3 Macs have been Apple refurbished and they all work flawlessly. These machines are virtually identical to a new one, have the same 1 year warranty as a new one, are eligible for AppleCare and can save hundreds of $ over a new one. However, if you are willing to spend more then I'd strongly suggest getting an Apple refurbished iMac. OWC specializes in Macs and will offer a limited warranty, something impossible to get from a private seller. My recommendation if you are going to buy used is to purchase from OWC (and get a more up-to-date computer. Also, if you are buying from a third party then you also really don't know what you are buying, in short it's risky. In addition, unless the computer is a late 2009 (27" or 21.5") it cannot have Mac OS upgraded to the current version of Mac OS. A 2009 is now almost 9 years old which is quite old for a computer.
